Lodi Just Became America's Favorite Small Town. Here's How to Celebrate.
Lodi has always known what it had. Now the rest of the country does too.
This year, Parade Magazine launched America's Favorite Small Towns to mark two milestones: the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and Parade's own 85th anniversary. Hundreds of towns were nominated nationwide. The field narrowed to 40 finalists, then to ten regional winners — Lodi representing the West alongside Bend, Oregon. From there, it came down to the public vote.
Lodi won.
The recognition points to everything that makes this place more than just the Zinfandel Capital of the World — 85+ wineries, a walkable historic downtown, the Mokelumne River running straight through it, and a community that shows up. It's the kind of validation that confirms what those of us on the river have known all along: this is a place worth showing up for.
So we're celebrating — and we'd love for you to join us.
A Summer of Estate Nights
Between now and the height of summer, WOO GIRL! Cellars is hosting a run of evenings meant to be lingered over. Each one captures something different about life on the river — stillness, story, and a little bit of sparkle.

This one is different. We're rarely open in the early evening, but this night we are and we're opening it to everyone.
We're marking Lodi's national win with a summer evening in the tasting garden at: golden hour, the Delta Breeze moving through as the heat breaks, and a surprise guest DJ bringing rooftop house energy to the tasting garden — a rare stop between Bay Area and Sacramento bookings.
Entry is $10 per person. No outside alcohol, but you're welcome to bring your own picnic — a beautiful charcuterie spread, savory baguette, whatever makes the evening feel like yours.
